Adding Mom to Several Bank Accounts

Would it be safe to add my mother to all of my financial accounts prior to filing bankruptcy to prevent any of my funds being seized or taken? Does this work?

I have several accounts at various institutions and want to add my mom as a joint account holder. She does not need to have an ATM card nor be on checks but just sign a signature card and be placed on as a "joint" account holder. If I do thhis now and decide next year I may need to file will this prevent them from taking any of my money?

I am from Indiana. Thank you for any advise on this.

No, adding someone else to your financial accounts prior to filing bankruptcy will not prevent any of your funds being seized or taken.

As long as your name is on an account, it is fair game for the creditors.

Oh. I was under the impression if it had anyones name on it they could not touch the funds. Thanks for the information though. I will research further.
