Should I go ahead and close zero balance cards?

Should I go ahead and close all the accounts that have a zero balance so that they will show as closed by consumer and not by creditor? What's left is Home Depot, Sears, Ashley Furniture, and Belk.

Since you have not filed yet, to me it makes sense to close the cards. Better to read closed by consumer than "included in bankruptcy". JMO.

I don't see how it matters much, but you could close them if you wish. Ashley Furniture shouldn't ever be used again - buy used instead. Belk is fine for the discounts same with Home Depot but both will be closed by HSBC & CITI, respectively anyway.
