    hmm checkin account debt

Well I just got a letter in the mail from Compass Bank (old checking account) saying i was like 200 and some change .. in the negative. Not a big amount obviously, but since I am filing soon would I be able to put that on the bk? or should I just pay it.. I mean like I said it's not a whole lot, I'm assuming it is overdrawing back a long time ago.. weird thing is I don't remember being negative with them but they did send the document with what was purchased. So just wondering either way not a HUGE deal.

    Yes, it can be included.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

yes you can bk them. remember that they can cause banking problems for you in checksys and the like. better find out if you are in there and think about paying them instead of bk'ing them.

once in those bastard systems its hell getting out.
Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

yes you can include them and it will be discharged. I had a TCF account...they s^$# as a bank, and my balance was $721.00. The weird things is I have been in Chexsystems for YEARS and I have been turned down a few times for an account. I took a chance and applied at Amcore bank, I have had my account for over 2 yrs now, and I was/still am in Chexsystem.
Since way before BK, even though I and in Chex, I have still been able to write checks at places like....Target, Wal-mart (where I was denied before) I guess because I have a different account number, even though my info is the same...go figure .

I read that just because the NSF checks/balances are discharged, Chex won't take you out of their system. Since I can write checks, and everything is behind us, I'll just wait the next 3 yrs to fall out of their system.
I am not in Telechecks system, and I found out they will remove your account out of the system if the checks/balanced were paid or discharged.

So just add your balance and it should be fine, mine was.

excuse me... after you say that, you are using that finger in an odd way. what is that supposed to mean? any why are you blushing afterwards?

                  this makes me very uneasy

we all are jimh, but they wont tell us it seems. i read a lot of posting abou tit and it all comes up wildcard everytime. ive jsut made my mind up to make sure i keep two banking accounts at all times and pay my checks no matter what.

it helps to never write checks though.

It is 5 years . It stinks too, because even if you have you checks paid or discharged they still stay in the system. Kinda like your credit report except it's not 7 years, and they are real sticklers if you try to dispute any accounts. Thgey go by adte reported or something like that...not sure. I'm in Chex, and I was able to open a new account, and I'm just waiting tot he time to creep by.
Here try getting info from this site, it also as a list of Banks that do not use Chex:

                          Good luck...

Thanks for the link. My finacee lived in Cali when married and her ex wrote some bad checks after she moved back to Ohio but before they were divorced. She's in chexsystems even though it wasn't her. She can't get a checking acct until she pays up on his bad checks. The checks are just the tip of the iceberg though. She didn't divorce him until 3 years after moving back to Ohio so all the bad debt he compiled over those years without her even signing is supposably hers also. Damn community property states. It's frustrating.
