I believe you would need to work out the separation agreement before filing. I don't know if the automatic stay has an impact, but until you figure out who is living where and paying what you don't really know what your budget will be.
Check with your attorney, of course.
Get mortgage modified: DONE!7 months of back interest payments amortized, payment reduced over $200/mo (In the 'planning' stage, to file ch. 13 if/when we have to.)
