    Life after BK

So I just wanted to follow up...I discharged in March.
Anyway my son has desperately been needing braces. Since I'm not swamped by debt anymore, I was able to go to the appointment and cut a check for it all upfront. That would never have been possible before now.
Anyway - maybe some of you recall I had a really nasty ex who wrote a letter to my trustee trying to stop my bk (unsuccessfully), and has been throwing the bk in my face ever since.
Same ex has to legally pay half of the braces.
Anyway - same such ex is so deep in debt, the braces are an impossibility for him...I seriously had to work out a long term payment plan for him to pay me back his share...
Anyway - felt pretty good..not just the fact that I was able to pay for my sons braces finally (has been weighing on me for years), but the fact that the only way this loser could contribute to his sons dental care was by me having to extend him credit because he is now the endless slave to his own debt.
    Funny how things work out.

Funny how these things work out. I'm just about 4 months since discharge and financially, things are still tough, but so far I'm able to get by. That will improve in September for a number of reasons so I keep reminding myself to keep plodding along until then. Right now I hit the plasma center twice a week to make some spare cash. I don't mind it much and it keeps fuel in the truck and milk in the fridge.

In so many other ways life is so much better. Lessons learned? too many to list, but the big one is that I would have filed much sooner if I had educated myself earlier.

Good luck to you and thanks for sharing!
