A "friend" would not loan me money at 700% interest.

I think that says all that needs to be said about friends.

That you can come here, bad grammar and all, and post such tripe (look it up, Brazzy) and still think what you seem to think, is, in itself, unthinkable.

Virtually everyone here would have chosen to pay their bills, given the chance. Perhaps you meant to find a forum of liars and thieves. This is not that place.

This forum is filled with honest people who hit very tragic circumstances. Medical issues, death, cancer, things that I suppose you would claim are "normal". Maybe you can endure a 500k dollar hit with a month's notice. Most of us cannot.

You are truly trolling in the wrong place. No one I know of would be on this board if they had any other option.

Best to you, though, and I hope you will one day face a similar circumstance.

with respect, every post you have made here has a little dig at the OP designed to make them feel guilty. your post above refers to people " cheating people and businesses " and being proud of it.

Well yeah it is designed to make them feel guilty for celebrating. I have made no comment about filing BK nor people's hardship. I personally feel for people in tough situations and have been more than helpful to hundreds of people in a hardship. I just feel taken back that this is the response of those people. I've helped people keep homes, cars, money, etc. If I found that there response to it was: I would be pretty upset as would anyone else here. We do what we do because we know what its like to be in that position. I understand its a sigh of relief as it should be. I simply feel celebration is excessive. These big bad banks that enslave people employ people too. When people screw the banks they lay people off. Those people who are layed off are now in the same situation. All together as a society its not a good situation all around.

O and if a creditor charges 700% interest we should all report them to the OCC.

You know nothing about banks and the real cuprits here. Read a book

I think I should have celebrated when my Mortgage company Bank of America was awarded $20,000,000,000.00 of bailout money and $118,000,000,000.00 worth of guarantees against bad assets. While they are refusing to grant me loan modification and raised my interest rate to 23.99%. I should feel so guilty because I could have still be paying them $446.00 in interest every month, plus $35 for over the limit fee. plus plus. I should have celebrated when out of the blue they raised my 9.9% interest to 23.99 and cut my credit limit by 3 thousand so I will be so close in going over. I think I am feeling soooo guilty now. Why did I celebrate when the treatening calls and letters stopped?
This Forum is better than any lawyer I met.

Hey Brazzy, I thought of something else here. How about those big banks and certain companies getting their bailout money? I am sure they have "celebrated"

Nope nothing about banking at all... LOL. I'm not a debtor. Im not a judge. I'm not a BK attorney. So what am I?

Did they get that bail out money for free? No interest or shares of stock were integrated into these deals? really? So the UK and US government are scheduled to make a little back off this?

700% is legal. I read the disclosure on the wall at Amscot here in the Tampa area three days ago.

I do not borrow from them, never have. I was there to pay a utility deposit on a rental house we are trying to sell.

I see the "celebration" icons as a perfectly legit way of saying, "I am free". Not "I HAVE GOTTEN SOMETHING FREE". That is different.

Most people here have been under attack for months or years from debt collectors who will not accept any answer except a check in the mail.

Most people here are honest and hardworking folks who hit a tough patch and exhausted every method they had to meet their obligations. Many have ignorantly wasted retirement monies and exempt funds in a misguided attempt to "do the right thing".

Some have lost their loved ones, careers, futures, and thrown away all they had to honor their debts.

Your target, if it even exists, is not here. There are thieves and liars out there. You will find very few here, as we tend to run them off as soon as they arrive.

We operate within the law, and rarely even push the line. Mostly, there are sad stories here, each one could be you, or your mother, or your grandmother. It is not pretty, but it is honest.

You keep saying you get it, but you obviously don't. We dont' celebrate because we are proud, we are celebrating to put a difficult part of our lives behind us. If you can't understand that, why don't you just let us each decide what we should celebrate. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. There are many experienced people here who are willing to help without judging.

There are plenty of places where the bankrupt are judged and told we should be ashamed. This is the one place we can go for understanding and support and sometimes even for celebration.

I think I know who you are... you are a member of that group from the NCAA that celebrating when scoring a touchdown is penalized. You hate people when they are happy. It makes you sad...

Are you comparing yourself to cancer patients? WOW new low.

As for Lady. If you dont like it then dont reply. I stated my personal opinion. I get that a fresh start is just that a fresh start. Its not the end. its just the beginning. Personally I dont celebrate when my favorite NCAA team (addressing above) scores a touchdown. I cheer when they win the game. Thats my personal opinion. I have numerical statistics of people who file multiple times. In other words they dont continue on the right path. Unfortunately it is only the first step in the right direction, but it needs to be followed up by several other steps. I say good luck to those who do make moves on the right path.

Duh? Sure they did. They were reflated and are "getting their balance sheets in order" - they get the bailout we get the bailiffs

Oh I concur. It was just the way the OP approached the term of "celebrating" associated with BK.
