Today, I get a call form a Doctor's office, which by the way, was to be discharged. This Doctor is my orthodontist. I thought, why in the world are they calling me?
Let me expalin for sec, if I may. About 4 years ago, I began suffering from some bad spells of vertigo. I had all kinds of tests done (MRI and CT scans) and nothing was found. Well, my sister works for one of the best orthodontists in the region (rated one of the top 10) and she mentioned something about vertigo being linked to jaw trouble. Anyways, my bite was a little off and my teeth never met properly, so I set-up a consult. Had my consult and it was recommended that I get braces for about 18 months or so. Oh my, 31 years old and braces?
I get my braces, and would you believe that within a few short months, the vertigo ceased. And it's been almost three years since then and I haven't had a vertigo attack since. And let me tell you, it was bad. There were days when I couldn't walk straight. LOL....good excuse to get out of a DUI too.....LOL!
To make a long story short, the doctors office called me this afternoon to inform me that they were not seeking any moneys, nor would they file proof of claim. They wrote of the $95 balance I owed them and said if I would like to continue my care with the orthodontist for exams and follow-ups (which I'm in desperate need of.......need new retainers), I am still welcome there and there would be no hard feelings.
For once, someone made me feel like I was still human, even though I have filed BK. I wish there were more people like this. That totally made my day.
