    My nightmare came true

I got a job making just 10k under the medium. How do I come up with expenses??? Living with parents, no car loans or anything just unsecured debt. I was expecting to get one that paid 20k less so I can easily file a chapter 7. They want me to start tomorrow afternoon.

Congrats on the new job! Those are getting harder and harder to find.
All I can suggest is, move out and start supporting yourself. You'll have a lot of expenses in a hurry.

It's easier than you think. You might have to pay first and last or a bigger deposit, but you'll be able to rent, no question.

Oh btw do you all think they will question a 700 dollars a month insurance premium? Job is contract to perm and has no benefits until after 4 months so I have to pay the high premium for now. I think this should help alot with expenses.

I don't know about where you live, but around here there are a lot of apartments that don't even bother checking credit because they rent to illegal aliens from Mexico. I live right next to illegal aliens, and don't let the name scare you. They are actually very nice people and great neighbors. They don't cause me any trouble at all.

My point is, if you look through enough apartment areas, you will eventually find one that doesn't care about your credit report.
                The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

Sounds about right to me. I was paying $1,200 a month for my family's coverage.

Back when I was financially succeeding I was also a landlord....mostly single family townhouses/condos and small houses.

I never ran credit reports and most of the other part-time landlords I knew didn't either. Most smaller property owners are too concerned with maintaining cash flow. If you have a job that's verifiable and the deposit that's usually all it takes for many local small-time landlords to lease to you
                    Money (cash) talks.

I'm looking at 1800 a month in this area for something decent, even an apartment is pretty close to 1800 around here.

In any case my fear is that if my security clearance doesn't go through I will lose my job. I started work today but have no idea when the clearance paperwork will come.

Lawyer called 5 minutes ago. Kind of late but I like the dedication. He says I don't have to move out any time soon. It can be argued that my expenses would eventually increase once I move out in the future.

Have you thought about checking out www.roommates.com? it's a good website for folks to find a rental to share (like a house) with someone else. That's how I found my roommate. I've been there for about 3 years and the arrangement works out for both of us....

Can't do roommates with loud kids. I couldn't stand it when it was just me and a roommmate. The 1800 was just in case I needed the expense to file. I can find homes to rent here cheaper but just have to deal with traffic more.
