I'm sure there are pros and cons. Obviously one that specializes in BK is going to know the ins and outs because they use the info on a daily basis. I also wanted one that was a member of the BBB and http://www.nacba.com/attorney consult and decided to file, 02/15/2010
no-asset Chapter 7 filed, 03/11/2010
341, 05/10/2010
discharged, 07/13/2010

It depends.
You should ask them, "what percentage of their practice is devoted to BK." "Who actually handles the case, do you (attorney) do the work or do you pass it off to a paralegal to do most of the work."
In general, I do not recommend attorneys who do not exclusively practice in debt related law. Those attorneys tend to be dabblers in BK; they tend to have the view that BK is simply filing out forms. If you have a really easy case, maybe it is not that big a deal. The only exception might be low population states where it would be difficult for an attorney to exclusively practice in BK.
