Paralegal thinks I want his job.

It's sad really, that little old me without any NOLO guide caught numerous errors all over our petition.

She asked me to review it, so I did, but then she couldn't handle how bad she looked when I caught over 10 errors, then she sad, what? do you want my job or something???

Not my fault you suck, just get it right, cause I aint signing nothing while being held under oath, ya dumb trick.

That's what happens when you replace a brain, #2 pencil and a calculator with some crapware called BestCase.

Yeah, I wonder how bad this "Best Case" must be, since it doesn't seem to do any kind of cross checking or sanity checking. Might as well just use a fillable PDF.

Best Case is good and does cross checking. Most of the data concerning property, valuation, liens is all cross-connected making all the forms go smoothly.

No matter what computer program you use, the operator of the program will generally determine how well the program behaves. The old... garbage in, garbage out.

That is the problem, the software does a lot of things automatically behind the scenes and unless someone checks it (like the attorney) to make sure that is the picture you want to present to the court, the petition can get screwy. My guess is, this paralegal does not understand the logic of the software program she is using.

My guess is they slap them together with errors, and if it's caught later on or has an effect on the case, they fix it. I don't plan on paying them to fix it, cause they will probably say to me, "you reviewed it". So I have every intent on reviewing it until its perfect before they go sending it off to court. Their paralegal wont return my phone calls or my emails now too. Oh well, if they continue this, I will take their last draft and white out the mistakes and go file it myself.

Yep, I agree. BestCase has some fancy features and if you don't check a box here or there -- and don't understand what all the "exclude" and "include" checkboxes do... then you'll end up with something you don't want. It can be an art form.

In this case, it may be best to represent yourself.

Yeah, I used Best Case, and you really have to watch it carefully, but it is a really good program. You just have to use it as a tool, not instead of a brain.
