OUCH on the $5 a day.
Just looked it up & I was wrong. Elementary $1.60, middle $1.75, High school $1.85. That is for an entire meal, but they can buy items individually and no clue as to how that breaks down
I did have my kids meal 'accounts' locked to be for meals only. They can only buy extras when they have cash/change for it. When my middle child first went to Kindergarden, I prepaid for ~6 weeks and could not understand why she got a 'low funds' alert about 2 weeks in. She had blown thru it by buying ice cream and other snacks.
And I learned a few weeks ago that the reduced price lunch is only good for getting the entire 'meal'. My daughter got parts of a meal, and was charged the per item price. Had it then fixed so she had to get a 'meal'.
