married filing seperate with questions

Here is my dilema. I bought a house 2 years prior to getting married by myself. After getting married we bought a house together, and rented the one I had out. Sure enough, shortly after closing on the other house, our renter lost his job because of the economy. Work slowed down for me also. I tried to short sale the house. had a buyer lined up the bank took to long, and foreclosed on the house. Now I just found out the second mortgage on the house never forclosed or went away like i thought. So now the mortgage company is trying to get me to pay on a home I no longer have that was foreclosed a year ago. I was laid off going on five months now. I want to file bankruptcy to just get rid of the mortgage from the other house, and leave the one that I have eith my wife alone. I have burned through all of my savings to pay the bills. I want to file alone. Sorry for the long post.
