i have a new car financed thru my mom....i have no car in my name... i make the payments on the car that is in my mothers name only... its my only transportation.. can i claim the car as an expense in a chap 7?

No. You have no legal responsibility. If the car was in your name and you had a corresponding debt associated with the car, then you could claim it.
