    Ah, okay, that makes sense.

    I think we need to meet with atty firm to compare. Our cars are both 5 yrs old. I do want to file asap, unless we are advised to wait. I don't want creditors to call my husband's work.
    I would definitely buy at least 1 new car before filing. Not only will it decrease your payment amount, but there's a good chance at least 1 of those cars will need some expensive repairs or maintenance by the time another 5 years is up, and that can be cataclysmic when you're on a 13 budget. Definitely check with your attny first, but most encourage this practice.

    Also, check out the collections area, they are not allowed to contact your husbands work if you advise them not to.
