    Delinquent property tax

I apologize if this has been answered before but I couldn't find the answer or at least one I understood or thought applied We are behind on the 2nd half of our 2009 Property taxes and received a letter yesterday saying we are on the county's delinquent tax list and if we don't pay what we owe by March 31st additional penalties and interest will apply. It also stated we could object to the taxes by April 20 and if we don't the forfeiture process begins May 10 and we have until May 10 2013 to redeem the property. We are getting our tax refund soon Hopefully by April 13 and I plan to pay the late tax plus the 2010 taxes as well. Are we ok? Are they going to try and take our house? What exactly does all this mean? I am very confused!
BTW we are filing CH7 in MN hopefully end of April beginning of May.
    Any knowledge would be appreciated.

You have a deadline to pay the 2009 property taxes or they will send the file to the foreclosure department. It sounds like you are going to be paying it off so I wouldn't worry too much. Even if you go down there and pay them before the April 20th cut off you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I was so confused I thought a sheriff might be showing up at my door. I am planning to have it paid off as soon as the refund comes!
      Thanks again

No, a sheriff won't be coming to your door :-) In fact your notice said you had redemption rights for 3 years. Don't stress about it.
