    Lawyer requesting ex-wife's address.

My husband and I are filing bankruptcy. The paralegal just called and needed some additional information from us. She is requesting my husband's ex-wife's address (they have been divorced for almost 10 years and have a child together, of which he pays child support through his payroll and it is directly sent to the State of Oklahoma for payment to the child's mother). Anyway, why would they need her address? We do not have a good relationship with his ex-wife and we really don't want her finding out about our bankruptcy if at all possible (I know it will be in the paper anyway, but you know what I mean). Anyone know? I plan on asking why they need it but I was going to see if anyone here knew why first.
4/29/2011 - Filed Chapter 13, have to pay a massive payment each month!
    6/16/2011 - 341 meeting
    7/21/2011 - Confirmed!

Because he owes/pays her child support - she is a creditor.
Get mortgage modified: DONE! 7 months of back interest payments amortized, payment reduced over $200/mo
(In the 'planning' stage, to file ch. 13 if/when we have to.)

Oh wow, so will she be invited to the 341 meeting then? That makes me feel really great... What rights does she have regarding our bankruptcy? Can she contest anything? We're not behind whatsoever in child support, but she's just the type of crazy person to show up at the meeting and cause drama. (Seriously, she's crazy!)

Unless he owes her something else... like from a property settlement or joint debt that he is bking, I don't think she'll have a leg to stand on. I think there's a form when you file that you have to sign that testifies you're current or the plan will bring you current on support obligations.

Per my husband's divorce decree, he agreed to take over some debt payments that we bked. She filed an AP and ultimately we agreed to let one of the debts survive bk (i.e., we'll still owe her when we're done with our 13).
