    Exemption question

My wife is currently in school for graphic design, and has purchased some semi expensive equipment that is necessary for the new career she is pursueing.

It was purchased in Dec 09, and will will probably file in July 10. IT was approx $3500 and it was paid for using our personal American express card that is the pay in full version so it has already been paid outright for.

    Will this be an issue?

As to the payment to unsecured creditors - I believe 3 months is the rule so that part shouldn't be an issue.

As for the exemption - if it was $3500 a few months ago, it probably still has a decent value now as work tools. Does your state have a tools of the trade exemption? Or do you have a large wildcard available to you?
Get mortgage modified: DONE! 7 months of back interest payments amortized, payment reduced over $200/mo
(In the 'planning' stage, to file ch. 13 if/when we have to.)
