Anyone ever have posts from the board come back in a negative way? Like a creditor or turstee etc? Im just curious, don't read anything into my question.

Honestly, unless someone gave out a lot of personal info I don't see how they'd know it was you. Not without getting a court order for the server's user logs and backtracking IP addresses (which is, in reality, regardless of what someone will tell you, pretty useless most of the time).

You're in a nation with 300+ million people. Of those 300+ million, if you figured it on the low side (very low) of 1% of the people filing for bk, that would still leave 3 million.

Now, in a pool of 3 million people, how noticeable do you think you are?

It's much like cutting grass. As long as you blend in and don't stand up a lot taller than the rest of them, your head won't get cut off.

While the internet is anonymous to a point, if big gubmint wants to find you bad enough, then will, regardless of what you're doing.

Just don't give too many personal details, your name, or home address. You'll be fine.

Don't put your last name in your username, then mention your state and the day you filed. That makes it pretty easy to track you down... other than that, you are pretty safe.

This and use "dead drop" or "john doe" e-mail accounts in order to keep them from stumbling onto you identity that way. If you're really paranoid, proxies are always handy to keep tucked away on a thumbdrive that doesn't leave and "tracks" on your home comp.

Above all, do not let anyone else on to the fact that you think bankruptcy is the greatest thing since sliced bread. You might start a chain reaction that will destroy the economy!

            Just kidding.

If you post identifying information anyplace on the internet, anyone can find you. So if you post your email address, name or names of relatives (spouse, etc.) that can be linked to you, anyone doing an internet search can find that information, article, forum, account, etc. So if your name is John A. Doe and your ID anyplace on the internet is JohnADoe, you know the rest...
