Is it alright to use "Work" Amex card for reimbursable travel and meal expenses

I wanted to throw this question out there. I think the answer is "yes it is okay" but will ask anyways.

I have a corporate Amex card that I use for work related reimbursements i.e. travel and overtime meals. All my credit cards have been canceled and I am preparing to file in the second half of 2010 or early 2011. Is it alright to use the Amex card knowing that I should not be using a credit card anymore in preparation for a ch 13 and maybe a 7 if possible?

I know it sounds weird that I plan to file in the next 6 - 12 months, but I have to wait to secure reliable transportation and some other valid expenses that may allow me to file ch 7 versus ch 13.

    Thanks in advance

I think before anyone can give an informed opinion, we need a little more information. In who's name is this card issued?

My husband was issued a Diner's Club Card when he was still employed with his company, NCR. It is in 'Hub's name, but was issued by his employment. He used this card similarly to the way you describe your use, but anything and everything that he put on the card that was not 'business related', he had to repay. He also had to keep receipts and good records of his usage. When he left the company, he had to turn this card in.

If the card is issued in the Company's name, with you as an authorized user, you *might* be okay. But if the card is listed in YOUR name, as it was 'Hub's, you could be in trouble.

If you have any paperwork with this thing, it would be well worth your while to read the fine 'mice type' print. Also, if you have an attorney, this is a good question for him/her.

The Amex card is in my name and has my company's name below my name on the card. I would incur the charges and pay them out of my own pocket. Afterwards, I can file an expense report with my company to get reimbursed.

Yes, this sounds very much like what my husband had. I honestly don't know what to tell you.

Since you are planning to file BK in the middle future, would you be able to pay the charges 'out of pocket' and then wait to be reimbursed without causing a hardship to you and possibly your family?

Also, from other posts I have read, I gather that Amex is one of the more aggressive of creditors...
