I knew in November at the latest that I needed to file BK. I've been procrastinating terribly. I know I should stop paying cc's but also think maybe I should buy a car before I screw up my 760 credit rating. I don't want to make any moves before talking to an attorney, so I keep throwing my money away on cc payments.
I worked for 9 years for an attorney who shared suite space with a business bankruptcy firm. So, I was pretty friendly with the BK attorneys. In December, I emailed one of the attorneys who is no longer with the firm, hoping he did Chap 13's. Nope, just 11. But he referred me to somebody who does personal BK. I FINALLY called her today. I left her a voicemail and she called me a couple of hours later. Good sign that she called me instead of having an assistant call back. And I was able to get an appointment for this Thursday!
That was an awful lot of words to say that I finally got over whatever was keeping me from making that call and took a big step towards freedom from debt!
Edit: Hey, how did that grin get in the title? Didn't meant to put it there. Oh well!
