My mother is my landlord. I have a joint checking account with my mother so that I won't have to write a check to her every month; I just transfer my rent money to her checking account every month. The reason she listed me as a co-signer on her account was so that I could make transfers via online banking instead of physically going to the bank and making deposits to her account (we bank at the same bank, so my online banking account shows my accounts and the one I have jointly with her, makes for an easy rent payment).
I am getting all my paperwork ready for my first lawyer consultation. I have to show 12 months of bank statements. I know I have to show this statement since I am a co-signer, but since I don't use the account whatsoever (except to pay my mother for my rent) will they count her balance as a balance for me?
