1. I got a statement in the mail today from Target, and it says in the message box that they have made several attempts for me to make a payment, and my account is now under review for possible legal action.
It just hit the 90 day mark of being late, and the balance is about 650. Is that just a scare tactic and pretty much that it is going to collections?
2. We have one last payment coming out for the lawyer at the end of Feb. I still haven't told the creditors that we are filing. If I tell them I have retained a lawyer, does that speed them up to try to sue me?
We have decided to wait to file bankruptcy until late May early June because we are living with the in-laws right now and once we are on our own our disposable income will go up A LOT more and it will only help our Chapter 7 even more. We are at the 90 day mark for all our creditors. Our biggest original balance is 5,000/6,500 from a Target Visa that is in my husbands name.
