Turbo Tax, vs Tax Cut vs (fill in the blank)

    Hi All-

I am self employed and chap 7 discharged. I am starting to get 1099s for debt included in my bankruptcy and I understand there is a tax form to fill out for this.

Do any of the software programs handle filing after bankruptcy better than the other. I really don't have the extra money to hire a CPA.

    Thanks

Honestly, not sure if any of them handle that particular issue, if they do, you probably need to get the higher grade versions. I use Turbo Tax and I seem to remember it asking me about it, but since I don't have that issue, I didn't bother with it.

Taxact handles this with their desktop version. I have no idea about the online version. I've been using it for years and it handles everything I've ever needed (including self employment, rental home).

TurboTax handles this problem and creates the Form 982 for you.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick
