Question about how 6 month lookback is calculated

Do they want the totality of 6 months past income or do I need to provide and list the income on month by month basis? With my small business I always calculated income on a quarterly basis. So, I might have to break that down to a monthly schedule... even though all of the numbers end up being the same in the end of the 6 month look back?

Also, if family provided a one-time payment (gift) to me in September to pay bills... is that considered income? I know that has been asked before but it seems that there is no clear rule on this issue.

What I'd do is calculate the total 6 month income and double it to get yearly totals. I'd then for the monthly numbers on your schedules divide by 12 the yearly total to get an approximation. The average would be enough for monthly check with your lawyer though.

Did they pay the bill collector directly? If they did its not an issue. If the money first passed through your hands I'm not certain you'd probably need to ask your lawyer about local rules concerning that. There might be a place in the financial statement that asks about gifts you received I can't remember that right now
