just curious, why they have to send mail to everybody's name in the case, to let them know that I am filing for bankruptcy
    for example :
1.the religious organization which I am member ( I pay small each month)
    2. my ex wife ( we had property together 3 years ago, nut not anymore)

If there's any person or entity that you pay money to each month or any person or entity that you had a joint account or debt with, they have to receive a notice of your BK filing. The automatic stay put in place prevents them from contacting you for payment or to collect collateral. Basically, if you list them on your BK petition, they receive a notice.
    Bankruptcy History:
    Chapter 7 filed - 10/12/2005 - Asset
    Discharged - 02/16/2006
    Case Closed - 11/08/2007

      Is this a church?

I really hope our church doesn't get notice of our BK.

anyway , like the others say, you list it as a monthly payment, they get notice

Hmmmm, I don't make a "set" monthly payment to our church. Sometimes I write a check on Sunday, sometimes I give cash. And often times the amount varies.

My understanding was it would just be listed as an expense and that's it. They wouldn't need to be notified.
