List of expenses for free consultation tomorrow....

The only thing the attorney I'm meeting with tomorrow wants is a list of our monthly expenses. Is this going to be *the* expenses they would go off of if we retained them, or would they help us fine tune it if needed?

I tried to fine tune it last night and this is what I came up with....

Family of 4 and 1 dog (Central TX)

    Mortgage: 1273

    Auto Loan: 252.

    Groceries/ Personal Items/ Cleaning Supplies/Pet Supplies: 950

    Gas: 275

    Auto Ins: 150

    Term Life Ins: 89

Homeowners Insurance (this portion paid outside of escrow) 3.

    Util/Trash: 150 (I averaged 12 months worth of bills)

    Water/Sewer: 80 (Again, 12 month avg)

Medical/Dental/Prescriptions/Glasses for husband and son: 150.

    HOA: 20

    Entertainment:100

    Cable/Internet/Land Line: 135

    Cell: 115

    School Lunches/Work Lunches: 50

    Auto Maintenance/Repairs: 75

    Home Maintenance/Repairs: 100

    Clothing: 200

    License Renewals/Vehicle Inspection Stickers/Vehicle Registration: 17

    Tithing/Charity: 40

Misc (Haircuts, Dry cleaning, Newspapers, Parking, School Field Trips, School Supplies) 75

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Does that look detailed enough? Anything I'm forgetting? Anything way out of line?

Even though they didn't ask for it as this meeting, I have 6 months worth of paystubs to bring with me, just in case.

Looks like you have everything covered and are well prepared. When I went to my first consultation all I brought was the most recent bills and 2 months of paystubs. The paralegal then went through all the expenses with me and she was very helpful. Her expenses were actually higher than the ones I came up with-she knows what you can use to your benefit. Once we pay off the lawyer we will go back and go over everything again to make sure all is ok. I think this was just to determine if we qualified for a CH7 or CH13.

It looks like you are in good shape

    Good Luck

Yes looks good. If I were u I would think about separating the groceries into 1 category by itself .. Then the pet care into its own category ....Then add the personal items and cleaning supplies under misc.
It probally doesnt really matter but that was how mine was listed .....In the end the totals are all the same it just identifies how much for each total each mth....
      Just my thoughts ....

I'll be anxious to hear how your meeting goes and if you like the attorney. Looks like you are well prepared. Do you have health insurance costs, or is that something that is deducted from paycheck(s)?
        Hope it goes well!

Yes...health insurance is already deducted from my husband's paycheck.

Back from first consult and it seemed pretty good. I'll update in the other thread.
