How long until the c/c companies sue?

I keep hearing to stop paying your credit cards once you know you have to file bk. How long do I have before they take me to court or garnish wages? AMEX is the worst I believe. We have cards through them, VISA, and just a little owed to M/C.

I went almost 2 years without paying some, however they move more quickly in some cases these days. It depends I believe on how much you owe them. However I doubt many would sue before 6 months is up which is when they have to do a charge off.
