Here's some interesting info. It is from the sheriff in my county.

In general we will make a ten (10) day money demand on the defendant by a personal contact with the person(s) named in the Fi. Fa. or by leaving a letter at the person(s) home if we are unable to make personal contact. This is an optional process since it is not required by law, but in some cases can be effective. If the defendant says that they cannot or will not pay, then we will return the Fi. Fa. to you with the results of our money demand.

Sounds like they try to make nice by first asking you to pay. Although it is an optional process..

If you are in the Gwinnett portion of Auburn then you can go to the Gwinnett Courts website punch in your name and see the case and all documents filed pertaining to it. If there is a Writ of FiFa or a garnishment it will show. You could also punch in the plaintiffs name and see what actions they've taken on other cases. I was thinking you were in Barrow which has yet to come out of the dark ages and embrace the computer with online records.

Funny you should mention it, I do go onto their site almost every day. They do seem a bit slow in posting things, but I did know before I got the papers in the mail that the judge approved the summary judgement. I was really disappointed. I thought that I would at least have until the court date.

I will need to go to the courthouse. I can see everything that has been done in my case to this point online, but in order to get any detail, I will have to go there. They do not provide copies on their site.

I just don't want to find about the writ when it's too late.

Thank you for the advise about the lawyer handling this. His name is Craig R. Goodman. I'm gonna see what I can find out.

I just checked the Gwinnett County site, and it looks like this Craig R. Goodman has done a lot of work for Discover in the past, and more recently for Target National Bank. They have won lots of summary judgements, and that on the same date all I see is "general case disposition information" and that's it. Nothing about any fifa's, but in the past with their doings with Discover, there were plenty of Garnishments.

I am just hoping that they are not smart enough to find my car!
