Hello all hope you had a happy holiday! On with the questions!! We go in on Jan. 6th to look over and sign our paperwork. We were told to bring in current bank statement and ATM reciept. My questions is can we bring that paperwork home and go over it again and again! What kinda of things are we looking for that would be mistakes on this. My attorney also told us that we would be better off with a one trustee over the other and there is no way to know which one we would get but they have kinda thought the way things look as they file other cases that the ones at the end of the month seem to get the trustee we want. Does this make sense that it might work this way and should we hold of on signing our paperwork til the end of the month? Any advice would be great thanks.

When I went in to sign my paperwork, I filed at the end of the month, but I needed to file on that day for a reason. I was allowed time to review the documents before signing and was given a copy of everything before I left. I guess you could go in and review the paperwork with your attorney and ask questions before signing the documents. Is there any reason that you have file on Jan 6. If not see if you could review it first and then sign it later.

We don't have to file on that day. Just the day of our appointment. We now are not in any hurry. Things are quite at our house now that we have our attorney all calls are going to him. This is the first month even with Christmas we have had money to pay our bills. We even could pay a little on the back bills we owe. It has taken a big weight off of us. I think we will just go over everything and take this final step slow and be sure we have all our I's dotted and T's crossed. After I know the paperwork is done we can take a little more time going over anything because we can submit the paper work in a hurry should we need to do that. Thanks for your reply.

Hello. I am not sure if you are filing a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13 ???
1) Are you paychecks direct deposit ??? If so you will want to make sure to file before your paycheck hits your account so you dont have alot of money in there.
2) I am no expert but it appears that Attorney's & Trustee's can make a huge impact on your case . So if you are in no hurry it might pay off in the end to wait it out and keep your fingers crossed u get the trustee you are hoping for.
3) Just go over the #'s and make sure everything is listed on there as you had discussed with your attorney... Expenses, income, & make sure its all correct...This is a huge decision so make sure everything is correct...Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones
Chapter 13 filed 10-21-09
Discharged 4-13-15
