First, is the 6 month income period looked at up to the day you file? So if my parents file in say 3 months the income looked at would be the past 3 and the next 3 months.
Second, my Dad is 65 and has had two heart attacks and lives out of a truck for 5 days a week 50 weeks a year. At his work he has the option to drop his work schedule down to 3 or even 2 weeks a year. He does not take SS yet, but will when he turns 66 in Jan of 2011. So, while he makes about $1500/mo making a Ch 7 difficult to qualify for even in Calif, if he voluntarily dropped a week a month for 6 months, then qualification would be automatic as they would be below the Calif Median income by almost a grand a month?
They would have no other income at that time.
