For those who owe money to the Ca state franchise board

Some good news for a change.....

I owe about $3600. Not much really but I wanted to keep my payments and overhad as low as possble and I can send extra when I want or can with no penalty.

I offered them $64 per month for 5 years and they took it.

Just a bit of encouragement if anyone out there is stressed with California taxes.

Now on to the IRS who I owe allot more money to.

    Good luck.
Very fortunate in the grand scheme of things but have learned my lesson.

    Filed 12/15/08, 341 1/12/09, Cont to 2/12/09, cont to 3/12/09, cont to 4/15/09, cont to 5/11/09, cont to 6/02/09. Discharged 9/16/09, Closed 10/23/09

That is good news. The FTB is notoriously difficult to work with. They once filed a lien against a property I had in California when I made a mistake on my tax return. The problem was that they never made proper notice to me and thus denied my right to due process. I proved it by quoting their internal procedures back to them and they canceled the tax, penalties and interest and removed the lien as "filed in error". The enrolled agent I was working with said they'd never seen the FTB roll over like that.
