In the last week I have met with two attorneys about possible Ch 7. The first firm also does other stuff, like personal injury. The second solo practitioner does only BK. I know there can be opinions on this kind of thing too -- sole focus vs. other areas of practice.
I'm thinking about interviewing a third, if only because a new issue has cropped up that I'd like an opinion on.
Just wondering how many free consults others conducted before hiring? Were there questions you wished you asked prior but didn't?
On the askmethner.com site (very very well-written and helpful advice, in my layperson's opinion) you can get a free snailmail copy of Brian Methner's advice about hiring a BK attorney. (He's in Colorado, I can't hire him.) He says "run" if an attorney doesn't offer any testimonials on their website or otherwise...did others ask pre-hire about previous clients and their satisfaction? Or for a "guarantee", as Methner says his office provides? It just seems a bit blue sky and unreasonable to me. The second attorney has no client comments on the website and I'll have to check the first one's again...wasn't thinking about it at the time. But I liked the second one better and am leaning her way.
