Forever. I've seen Capital One credit card applications from 1987... why do you ask?
I am a Pennsylvania Eastern and Middle District Bankruptcy, FDCPA, FCRA and Foreclosure Defense attorney, information I post is based on experience in these districts. It is not legal counsel, consider it friendly counsel.

I'll bet I can guess....the OP is wondering if the creditor can produce the application showing what he/she stated as Income???? That might be construed as fraud if he/she really was not earning that salary/income at the time, no?

Don't ask why I think this is the answer....

It all depends as to what their General Counsel indicates is the term to destroy certain records for the company. That information can be permanent or destroyed within any number of indicated years. You really have no way of knowing.

If its an ancient application, lying in 1989 doesn't mean anything now.
