Has anyone been discharged and then had to return an item that was placed on a credit card closed and included in bankruptcy? If a company refuses to issue credit by different means, does your bankrupt account send you a refund if they get payment? Or do they just apply the refund/payment towards your discharged balance? Im a bit confused. I should have just sold the stuff on craigslist.

Poof its all gone now and yeah, you should have sold it on Craigslist. I'm surprised the transaction went through if the card was closed, but ya never know.
Personally, after they said they would only credit back the card, I would have stopped the return and walked away. Live & Learn.
Just curious, but if you bought it with a card it had to be like 3-4 months ago. The store took the item back after all that time?

It was actually costco and we purchased 2 leather chairs a year ago. They have completely started falling apart and the leather cracking. I contacted costco and they first stated "no problem since the account is closed we will either send you a check or costco credit" I processed my return and now they inform me by law they have to return back to the original card even if its closed. So in essence, I do believe the refund is going to go "poof"From this day on I move FORWARD!!!

Bankruptcy is a process, not an event.......

This particular card had a small balance on it prior to filling bankruptcy because large payments were made to pay off all our furniture. So technically, yes they were paid for plus interest and now Im out that refund. Not to mention a half bare living area.....From this day on I move FORWARD!!!
