I'm sure this is an accident, but the timing sucks so I just want to be sure.
Attorney filed my chapter 7 on Wednesday. Hits the Credit Reports on Thursday. On Friday, I deposit my paycheck (drawn on bank's online banking check system, so their check) and it shows up in my online statement just fine. Today, poof, it's gone - and the bank says they have no record of it anywhere. They can't research it until Monday.
Fortunately, I have deposit slip and photocopy of check and I have enough funds to cover outstanding checks and live for the next week. I owe no money to bank (only have a checking account with Visa debit card, nothing else) and never bounced a check in 9 years with them. I just want to make sure - filing would not have triggered some sort of special hold on deposits with them? It's TD Bank, if that makes a difference.
Also, this is the 2nd time in 12 months this has happened to me there. Is it possible to switch banks before discharge? Or should I just suck it up and deal with it until discharge is complete and case closed then transfer to another bank?
