    Open Checking Account Pre Discharge

    Hi,

I currently have a checking account with a local bank, but will be moving in a few weeks. I had my 341 meeting earlier today and was wondering if it would be okay to open another checking account or should I wait until my debt is discharged? Is this something I would need to get approval from the trustee?

I apologize if this has been covered in the past. I did a search and was unable to come up with anything.

    Thanks!

As long as you don't open it with money hid under your mattress you failed to disclose or an inheritance you received you have no problem.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

Okay, thanks! Unfortunately my checking account will be nearly empty. This would be purely for convenience purposes. I'm just being paranoid.

Paranoia isn't always a bad thing.
I am a Pennsylvania Eastern and Middle District Bankruptcy, FDCPA, FCRA and Foreclosure Defense attorney, information I post is based on experience in these districts. It is not legal counsel, consider it friendly counsel.
