    yes, the automatic stay starts the day you file. No judgements or wage garnishments can be completed once you're in the stay.

    Also, someone mentioned if you file something incorrectly you get dismissed. It's not as simple as that. That don't just say "you did this wrong- denied". They give you a chance to correct/ammend the filing.

      After reafing the fro se threads and other info on bk I read that the give something like two weeks to make corrections I guess it just depeend on what type of info. I still feel like my best bet would te to go ahead and file pro se as planned, can not afford attorney, so I sure can afford garnishments I have read lots of info, got the nolo and I plan to let the doc prep prepare the bk for me and file as a.s.a.p. wish me luck !Thanks
