    Thank You to Everybody ~

I had a meeting with the attorney we are going to retain. There was an instant connection - unlike the others I saw....
And, he is board certified, which was a tip I read on here.
Anyway - I'm feeling much better and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!

As suggested after my first frantic post, I've been reading this site like crazy.
Although we are over the income guidelines, he feels strongly that we can file a chapter 7. And honestly, worse case scenario - we do a 13. We really don't have any other alternative

    My only concern-
I foolishly took out that $1,300 cash advance in September to pay our bills. He said make another payment this month, October - and then stop all credit card payments in November and we will file in December.

    Sound okay to you guys??

That sounds like a good plan to me to me.

    Good luck to you!.

He is a great lawyer and I feel totally comfortable with him.
I do have a quick question though -
He said this will be the last month to pay credit cards.

Because of the cash advance in Sept. - I thought you guys said I have to pay that for 3 months before filing? Is that just a recommendation or something concrete?

What would happen if I just pay them until December when we file?

          Thanks.....

You would be wasting your money if you continued to pay them at this point.

If you believe your lawyer knows what he's talking about, I would follow what he recommends. My lawyer has done a large number of BKs, and the Trustee called HIM up by name and said that "your client is next"! My lawyer was really tuned in with what our district requires/looks for.
