I have a serious illness and need my health insurance which I pay for myself. I am not employed. Will I be allowed to keep my health insurance if I file bankruptcy? Premiums are over 20% of my income; my total medical expenses is much more.

In what a chapter 7? Medical insurance is not an asset so it does not matter in a chapter 7 case save proving you qualify for chapter 7.
In a chapter 13 if you have proof of cost and need then it can certainly be used as an expense to reduce your monthly trustee payment. If it is so high you have no leftover money for any debt repayment it can make sure you stay in a chap 7 and not go into a 13.3/2/09- Filed: chapter 7 / No asset
