I was just informed by my mortgage company that I have until October 21, 2009 to pay my past due property taxes (2000.00) or they will pay this and have me pay them back divided by 12 along with my mortgage payment. They are afraid of a lien being put on my home (according to the mortgage rep). I have a question... If they add this amount will they also add what is do right now for this year also? Or will they wait again to look that info up next year? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from them (very difficult when all calls are being directed to India). How does this affect me when I want to file in December for chapter 7???

Assuming you want to keep your house and you can't pay the property taxes directly yourself before December, if you are filing Ch 7 you really don't have any other options. If you are filing Ch 13, you could add the property taxes to your plan and pay them that way. Please remind my aging brain ....which chapter are you filing?Last edited by lrprn; 09-28-2009, 06:03 PM.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
