your challenges on getting a new place would be the same regardless of where you move... I would advise you to be honest when speaking with prospective landlords... and would expect to put a higher security deposit down.

in my case, I'll be filing approximately 90 days after stopping mtg payments... and I don't plan to reaffirm, due to being severely upside down... I'm going through the BK before the foreclosure... then the normal foreclosure process would apply... I should have another 6-9 months here... but I'm not leaving until I HAVE to...
