If a hospital was on a bk and you received treatment "after" your bk was filed at this same hospital, how do you call about the cost of the newly aquired bill? Is it ok to call and get the balance of the bill or are we prohibited from contacting a creditor on the BK?

You didn't say which chapter you filed - 7 or 13.
If you filed a 7, then you are free to set up whatever payment plan with the hospital you wish. I still would ask your bk lawyer to look over any contract they want you to sign first just to be sure they didn't throw in the debt you filed on too.
If you filed a 13, if the hospital wants to set you up on an interest-generating payment plan to pay the post-filing bills, because it's new debt, it's possible that your Ch 13 trustee will have to approve it. Discuss this with your lawyer first before agreeing to anything, and certainly before signing anything.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
