Hi all, I was just wondering if you might share with me how much you paid for your lawyer. I talked with 5 lawyers and found 2 that I like (each one has been practicing less than 5 years) and was told by one of them that a lawyer who is not been practicing for very long can only charge so much or it will be questioned by the judge. Has anyone here ever heard of this? I really liked the first one we saw but she is actually $400.00 more ($1800 with credit counseling included) than the second one we saw he is $1400 filing jointly without the credit counseling) and I just thought she was somewhat a little judgemental with us regarding why some of our bills were so high where as the second one just calmly listened and explained his charges. Does this sound like a "normal" fee to charge for filing a chapter 7? Thank you for your input!

Do a search on the forum, there are a number of threads on this topic, I am not going to allow another one to get started.
Also, what others paid isn't going to help you, there is too much regional variation. What a normal BK fee is in San Francisco will be significantly different than in Little Rock, Arkansas.
