OT: class action lawsuits

i worked for a mtg co for about 10 years. there recently was a class action lawsuit filed against them for illegal overtime and not being compensated for it. we were forced to work 12 hour days for wks on end. when i was first contacted i was still employed there. i couldn't join becuase i was afraid i'd be let go as they had a list of names who had joined. well the employees won the class action lawsuit and employees are actually being paid out a good bit of money. i left the company over a yr ago.

question....is it possible to join a class action lawsuit after it's gone to court and been decided or has that ship sailed?

Depends on how the class was setup. It may not be necessary to actually join the class in order to reap the benefits. I'd contact the lawyer(s) representing the class and file a "claim".

If you were contacted about this and did not join the class action suit, or if they can prove you had knowledge of it, I am thinking you are SOL.

Over and done with now, but... All the more reason to join the class action, if you were fired as a result of participating in a legitimate legal action you have yet ANOTHER personal lawsuit. Could have taken in an additional year or two pay.
