    Question WildCard Exemption in California

What is the total wildcard exemption when filing a Chapter 7 in California? I am not sure if it's $21,000 or $25,000? No homestead involved. Who can give me an answer?

      California Wildcard Exemption

So are you saying that the total California Wildcard Exemption is $21,925. My lawyer said that I can exempt $25,000. Is she wrong? I wonder where she came up with the amount of $25,000.

Remember that you will be able to use parts of other exemptions, i.e., like we have a car that is work $7K. $2800 went to the car allowance and the rest came from the Wild Card. Or Tools of the trade, etc. furniture, etc.

          California WildCard

Right, I understand that any dollar amount over the designated item would be subtracted from the wildcard. For example, if the ememption amount for a car is $3,300 but your car is worth $4000 then $700 would come off the wildcard.

But my question still is what is the wildcard amount for California $21,925 or $25,000?
