I just had to share this story that makes me laugh, yet is full of stupidity.
Last year, when we filed Ch 7, we included my MIL and her husband in our filing. 90 days before we filed, they made my husband sign a contract, saying we owed them $1500. Included with this contract was a NASTY NASTY letter, questioning every single purchase we've made, every vacation...and it ended with how disappointing we were to her.
Needless to say, we filed and don't have any regrets in including her...and NOT paying her back. She has really stopped talking to us and has basically told us what rotten people we are for filing BK.
So, the other day my husband gets a call from her, telling him he needs to come get his stuff out of their basement because they're going to lose the house.....AND FILE BANKRUPTCY.
I remember right after we filed how AWFUL she was to us and now I think "Wow, Karma's a b*tch, ain't it?"
To make matters worse, they're filing on $10K worth of cc debt, but can only file a Ch128 (a state of WI BK) b/c they have too many assets! They have $10K worth of cars, $15K hot rod and a $10K camper/trailer. WHY WOULDN'T THEY SELL SOMETHING AND AVOID BANKRUPTCY!??!?!?!?!?!
