I had received a right to cure letter saying to pay them $2133 by July 28. I called to make the payment and asked if I could pay it on the 31st instead and if that would add additional fees. The lady said no, three days was not going to make a difference. Well I went to pay it on the 31st and was told they couldn't accept the payment because my house was in foreclosure.
I then had to pay $2800 extra in fees and they upped my mortgage payment by $500 a month for 5 months. WOW!!! All because of some false info (and yes, I know it began with me not making payments, but...!) So I asked them to review the call because the rep said nothing would happen. They said they'd get back to me, never did. And when I called back they said she would most likely get "spoken to" about giving wrong info. Yep, and I'm out 2800 bucks.
I would simply like to know, how mortgage companies are allowed to make money off of giving wrong info. Is this a new thing???
