Address?

When I tell the creditors that I am filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy and give them the lawyers name, several want to verify my mailing address. GE Money even wanted to verify my email address. Why do they all ask this? Just wondering if there is some special reason and if I should say something specific.

Perhaps so they can make sure your email address is removed from any automatic notifications that could be considered in violation of the stay?

I would be leery of confirming any kind of address whether snail mail or edress. Tell those who ask that they may get that information from your attorney and ONLY from that source. If they persist. Hang up.
