As I was going through my old checking account statements I noticed that I wrote a check for $300 to my god-daughter back in April. I can view the cashed checks as part of my statement. I wrote on the check memo area 'Easter Gift', which is what it was. It was intended for Easter.
My follow-on question is that this check was not written out to a family member, by definition. My god-daughter is the person I baptized and rarely see since she is thousands of miles away. What does the bk code consider a family member? That section says charity and family members. It does not say charity, friends and family members.
I'm getting ready to file ch13 tomorrow and all the paperwork is ready to go. This is just a quick meeting to sign and file.
Should I just let this one go and if the trustee actually finds it in my May statement I can say I forgot to list it?
