    Renting

    Hi

We will need to rent a house in two months. We just filed our 13 a couple of days ago. Anyone have difficulty renting because of a current BK? My income is not a problem but the BK does not look good.

Money talks and there are lots of rentals available out there to had.
I would suspect they many charge you a little more of a security deposit.

there's been another post just this week on the same topic...

i would recommend doing a search "rent and bk" or something similar. many have shared their stories over and over; don't feel like typing it again.

Landlords are hurting too. Lots of vacant properties that then need filled. Read the other posts for more info.

Bankruptcy is a process, not an event.......

We rented a brand new home last Fall - hadn't filed yet, but our credit was nasty and we told them we had two houses we were letting go. Our rent here is $1525/mo and they only required a $1200 security deposit. Now we have filed and our 60 days are up on Sept 14th, but we are actually going to be signing a lease on our new rental next week - they are only requiring a deposit equal to one months' rent. Both homes are through property management companies. I also talked to another management co. about a different house, she said no problem on getting a lease through them but we would have had to wait until discharge. One major thing in our favor is that DH has 18.5 years in the same job.
